ABOUT 

Dance has always been a big part of Kaja’s life. Through dance she learned how to listen to her body and accept it as it is, as well as how to become a confident and organized person. She has more than 20 years of experiences performing as a dancer and had competed in Show Dance on National, European and World Championships.

She holds a master degree in Physical Education (specialization in Sports training – Dance) from University of Ljubljana, Faculty of sport, Slovenia.

In 2015 she applied for International Student Visa Program on Broadway Dance Center, New York City. With a diverse selection of dance classes and under the auspices of excellent mentors, she has perfected the knowledge of contemporary jazz, ballet, step, hip hop, theater dance. She got the opportunity to work with exceptional choreographers in New York City: Ginger Cox, Derek Mitchell, Michelle Barber, Ashlé Dawson, Lizz Picini, Brice Mousset, Lane Napper and many more.

Nowadays she also shares her passion for dance as a teacher. Kaja encourages her students to explore their range of motion and movement through space in contact with another person. She motivates each person to lose their fears, breaks the boundaries and try something new. Most of the time they will work in pairs or in small groups. Dancers will focus on balance, change of weight and control of their own body as an important fact of injury prevention. On Kaja’s classes you will not only gain control and become aware of your body, you will also change your perspective of the way you look through the eyes of a dancer – literally.

As part of the non-profit organization MERAKI DANCE PROJECT, Kaja also helped organizing intensive workshops in classical, modern and contemporary dance techniques in Brazil in January 2017. She thought the following classes: Lifts and Tricks, Contact Improvisation, Nutrition for Dancers.

To enhance her understanding of the body in movement and the impact of practice she started taking Yoga classes in 2012. Yoga helped her improve her performance physically and as well mentally. In October 2021 she officially became a Certified Yoga Teacher by Aligned Yoga.
